About the Author
Anant Pai (1929–2011), affectionately known as “Uncle Pai,” was an Indian author, editor, and educationist best remembered as the creator of Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle comics. He is known as the “Father of Indian Comics.” His work continues to be used in schools and homes to teach children about India’s traditions and heroes.
Ram Waeerkar (1920–2003) was an Indian illustrator and comic artist, best known as one of the founding artists of Amar Chitra Katha (ACK). His vibrant drawings helped define the visual style of India’s most beloved comic series, which retold epics, mythology, folklore, and history for generations of readers. Ram Waeerkar is remembered as one of the pillars of Indian comic art, alongside artists like C.M. Vitankar and Yusuf Lien.
